Christopher Guthrie, Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President

Chris Guthrie joined the Comstock organization in 2013 as the Chief Financial Officer of Comstock Partners, LC, the privately-held commercial real estate development company owned by the Clemente/Schar family. In early 2018, upon the combination of the operating platforms of Comstock Partners and Comstock Holding Companies®, Inc., Mr. Guthrie assumed his current role as Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President of Comstock Holding Companies®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHCI) ("Comstock" or "Company"). In this position, Mr. Guthrie oversees the capital markets, accounting and treasury functions of the Company, and is responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, corporate and project finance functions, budgeting and forecasting, investor relations, and acquisition underwriting and due diligence related to Comstock's investments.


As a member of the Company's Executive Management Committee, Mr. Guthrie has played a key role in the development and execution of Comstock's strategic plan and the recent reshaping of its management team in support of the 2018 transformation of Comstock's operations from for-sale homebuilding to commercial real estate development, asset management, and real estate related service provider.


Prior to joining Comstock, Mr. Guthrie was a Principal at RedZone Capital from 2007 to 2013, a $300 million private equity firm founded by Daniel Snyder, principal owner of the Washington Commanders, and Dwight Schar, minority owner of Washington Commanders and chairman of NVR, Inc. (NYSE: NVR). During his tenure at Red Zone Capital, Mr. Guthrie was responsible for management of the accounting and finance functions, including; financial reporting, treasury management, asset management, tax compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and acquisition underwriting and due diligence functions related to the private equity firm's acquisition targets. As a member of the Red Zone Executive Committee, Mr. Guthrie assisted with development of the firm's investment and acquisition strategy. Completed acquisitions during Mr. Guthrie's tenure at Red Zone Capital included; Dick Clark Productions, a prominent entertainment company and producer of numerous awards shows and television series, and the Johnny Rockets restaurant chain. Mr. Guthrie was elected to the Board of Directors of The Johnny Rockets Group, Inc. in 2009 and helped implement its successful management and operational turnaround. Prior to Red Zone Capital, from 2001 through 2007, Mr. Guthrie served in a variety of positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, including as a Manager in the Transaction Services group, which provided due diligence services to clients in connection with their mergers, acquisitions, and investments.


Mr. Guthrie earned a BBA in Finance and Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002. Mr. Guthrie earned his CPA while at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
